[ Our History ]

OMICRON XI FOUNDATION HISTORY

The history of the Omicron Xi Foundation, incorporated July 19th, 1995, is one of ingenuity and vison of a collected group of college educated men bound together by four principles of manhood, scholarship, perseverance, and uplift. They came together believing that friendship is essential to building long lasting relationships by conveying that spirt of love and service to their fellow man. One of the core visions of The Foundation is to provide a financial and constructive pathway to success for young people to achieve their educational and professional goals.

Since that time the Omicron Xi Foundation has awarded nearly $200,000.00 in scholarships and educational assistance. The Foundation has sponsored numerous community advancement initiatives such as “Go to High School, Go to College” program, which encourages young people to stay in school and pursue a college education, youth talent searches, blood drives, and Achievement Week held in November, designed to recognize those individuals at the local and international level who have contributed to community uplift and numerous other social action events.

The Foundation sponsors various fundraising events to make all these programs work such as the; Annual SCJ Golf Tournament, The Annual Mardi Gras Extravaganza, Capital Fundraisers, and dedicated donations from many businesses and individuals who care and support the progress and success of our youth.

There is much work to be done in our community, and in the lives of our young people, as their challenges are many. Help us make a difference in meeting this tremendous challenge.
